Specialized Tarmac Elite

With nearly 5000 road bike miles under the belt, along with the 3000+ off road miles, it might be time for a carbon road bike, so this Specialized Tarmac Elite came along late in 2011

So far it has proved to be fast, enjoyable to ride, comfortable, better at smoothing out the minor bumps, and rough surfaces but not as good if you hit a big hole. Must stop doing that! The gear changes are also much smoother and quieter than the Sora/Tiagra mix on the Allez thanks to the Shimano 105 groupset.

This is the Elite version, so it features a FACT 8r carbon SL2 frame, carbon fork, carbon seat post, Shimano 105 compact (50x34) groupset, Shimano WH R500 wheels, and originally comes with an 11-28 cassette - though this may eventually get swapped out for an 11-25.
